The Steelers have made a last-minute move to strengthen their receiver lineup. They’ve welcomed Mike Williams from the Jets just before the trade deadline. In exchange, the Jets will receive a fifth-round pick in the 2025 draft from the Steelers. Williams, formerly with the Chargers, suffered an ACL injury in 2023 and joined the Jets on a one-year deal. Up to Week Nine, he’d made 12 catches for 166 yards. However, a crucial mistake in Week Six, where he ran the wrong route, led to an interception that lost them a game against the Bills. This incident was highlighted when quarterback Aaron Rodgers mentioned Williams's error. Shortly after this event, the Jets traded for star receiver Davante Adams, which heightened speculations about Williams's future with the team. These speculations finally came to a head on Tuesday with the trade.
