During his single season with the Friars, Vaaks averaged 15.8 points and 3.2 assists per game, shooting 35 % from beyond the arc.

He consistently stepped up against the toughest Big East teams, posting 23 and 20 points versus St. John’s and 25 and 21 against Villanova, plus a 28‑point effort against Butler in the tournament.
