Stocks May Dip More After Friday's Drop

Last Friday's stock dip might not be over yet. Big shares like the Dow Jones lost almost 700 points, or about 1. 6%, after news about jobs made investors nervous that the Federal Reserve won't cut rates as much as they thought. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq also fell more than 1. 5%. This means all three major stock measures are now in the red for the year and below what's called the 50-day moving average. This might signal more trouble ahead. Experts think that even if stocks bounce back a bit, they could still dip further this quarter.

For the S&P 500, that could mean falling below 5, 572, which is over a 4% drop from Friday's close. Other experts also warn of a bigger drop, mentioning rising bond yields and weakening stock breadth. They suggest investors should be careful, even if there's a small bounce back soon. Some stock trends are still solid, but not all signs are good.
