A 16-year-old transgender teen, Jayden Tkaczyk, was brutally assaulted by a group of teens in Gloucester, Massachusetts, leaving him with a broken orbital, permanent nerve damage, and a barrage of hateful slurs. Police are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.  

Jayden's attorney, Craig Rourke, stated that the attackers 'stomped on his head' and repeatedly used a derogatory term for transgender individuals. Rourke believes the motives are clear, but what evidence supports this claim? Could there be other factors at work?
