A young streamer named Jack Doherty recently caused a stir when he crashed his sports car during a live stream on the Kick platform. He was texting and driving at the same time, which led to him losing control of his McLaren and hitting a guardrail. Doherty kept the stream running, showing the aftermath of the accident, including his injured passenger. This isn't the first time Kick has faced controversy. The platform has had issues with streamers recording unethical activities.
Kick responded by banning Doherty permanently. They stated that they don't support illegal actions and took swift action to remove him from the platform. Doherty, who has been an online personality since childhood, has had several controversies in the past, including an alleged assault case. Kick's reputation has been shaky lately, with a recent incident at TwitchCon involving harassment and assault by some of their streamers. The CEO, Ed Craven, acknowledged the situation and mentioned that several accounts were suspended for violating Kick's policies.
