What did they find? Nurses in both hospitals had moderate levels of stress and burnout. Surprisingly, nurses in the somatic hospital had higher levels of some kinds of stress as they got older and more experienced. Meanwhile, psychiatric nurses felt more emotionally drained over time.
So, what's the takeaway? It's not just the type of hospital that matters when it comes to stress. Things like age and experience play a role too.
