Sunway Group and the Ministry of Higher Education have joined forces to boost technical and vocational education and training (TVET). This three-year partnership focuses on sharing skills, creating industrial training programs, and developing human capital. Ibrahim Sultan Polytechnic, under MOHE, will benefit, offering internships to TVET students from Malaysia's southern region. With structured programs, these students will gain practical skills to meet evolving industry demands. Sunway's chief HR officer, Foo Shiang Wyne, is confident this team-up will produce a competent workforce. Sunway has already supported over 200 TVET students nationwide through various partnerships. The ministry sees Sunway as a key partner in expanding training and job opportunities for graduates. This move strengthens the bond between academia and industry, vital for advancing Malaysia's human capital development. It aligns with Sunway's broader goals to uplift Malaysians in five key industries and supports the government's increased focus on vocational education seen in Budget 2025's funding increase.
