UkraineThursday, October 24, 2024
Supernova also acquired a Part-TCO certificate, which allows them to run charter flights within the EU. This certificate was granted on October 17th and the airline is preparing to start commercial cargo flights in European airspace. They also plan to operate cargo flights for other companies using their Boeing 737-800SF freighter, previously used by Air Berlin.
In addition, the airline has ambitions to launch long-haul flights between Ukraine, the US, and China. The specific routes they're considering remain undisclosed. Strategically, Supernova aims to connect Europe with both the US and China.
When civilian flights resume in Ukraine, Lviv Airport might be the first to reopen, with Boryspil Airport also being a potential candidate. However, safety improvements are essential before these airports can resume operations.
