In the heart of Coeur d'Alene, a festive atmosphere is brewing. Watkins Distributing is presenting Oktoberfest, a weekend-long celebration of beer, music, and community spirit. This year, the event takes place on September 20th and 21st, transforming downtown into a vibrant hub of entertainment.
From 4 to 8 pm on Friday and noon to 8 pm on Saturday, visitors can indulge in a variety of brews and culinary delights. Downtown businesses are serving a range of beers, ciders, and non-alcoholic options, as they transform into mini beer gardens. With over 30 beer options to choose from, visitors can sample their way through the weekend, discovering new flavors and old favorites.
What sets Oktoberfest apart is its diverse array of host sites, each offering a unique experience. Rotating between the No-Li Biergarten and Prostgarten, attendees can enjoy live music from seven bands, German-inspired cuisine from local restaurants, and exciting activities like stein-holding contests and best traditional dress contests.
On Friday, the 20th, the annual tapping of the keg takes place at 6 pm, followed by the Sean and Brad Show and a stein-holding contest at 7 pm in the No-Li Biergarten. Saturday's schedule includes bands, a stein-holding contest at 2 pm and 6 pm, and the best traditional dress contest at 4 pm.
With local food options ranging from schnitzels to bratwurst, currywurst, and pretzels, the culinary experience is as rich as the atmosphere. Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased through the official website.
