Teacher Arrested for Creating AI Child Abuse Images

Omaha, Nebraska, USASaturday, April 25, 2026
A 47‑year‑old science teacher from Omaha, named Matthew Lund, was taken into custody after police found 423 AI‑made pictures of children in sexual abuse scenes on his school computer. The images show kids from babies to about 12 years old, according to prosecutors. Lund admitted he made the pictures and used them while at work for personal gratification. He was arrested at his home early Wednesday on charges of possessing and sharing child pornography.
A judge set his bail at one million dollars. Police said there is no proof that any of the students he teaches were harmed or involved. Nonetheless, some parents expressed worry because they felt the teacher’s behavior was uncomfortable. Nebraska passed a new law in September that treats AI‑generated child porn as a serious felony, punishable by up to 50 years in prison. Officials believe this case may be the first time the new rule is applied.
