Teacher Arrested for AI-Generated Child Sexual Abuse Material

Omaha, Nebraska — A disturbing case has emerged involving a science teacher accused of possessing and sharing AI-generated material depicting child sexual abuse.

Matthew Lund, 47, was taken into custody after authorities discovered 423 AI-made images of children—ranging from infants to preteens—in sexual abuse scenarios on his school computer. Prosecutors confirmed the nature of the images following an investigation.

Lund admitted to creating and viewing the material while at work, citing personal gratification as his motive. His arrest occurred early Wednesday at his home, where he now faces charges of child pornography possession and distribution.

A judge set his bail at $1 million, recognizing the severity of the allegations.

No Evidence of Student Involvement

Police have stated there is no proof that any of Lund’s students were harmed or involved in the case. However, some parents shared concerns, describing Lund’s behavior as unsettling and raising questions about his conduct in an educational setting.

New Law Targets AI Child Exploitation

Nebraska recently enacted legislation in September, making the creation or distribution of AI-generated child pornography a serious felony. Convictions can lead to up to 50 years in prison.

Authorities believe this case may be the first application of the new law, signaling a strong stance against digital exploitation of minors.
