Tech Giants Oracle and Microsoft Eye TikTok Takeover

Recently, there's been chatter about tech heavyweights Oracle and Microsoft teaming up to buy TikTok. The White House is involved, trying to find a way for ByteDance to keep a small part of the company, while other aspects like its algorithm, data collecting, and software updates would be managed by Oracle. This deal seems to be a way to reduce Chinese ownership.

Oracle is already providing most of TikTok's backend support, so they'd be well-positioned to keep an eye on things. Microsoft, on the other hand, is involved but their role isn't clear yet. They were part of a previous bid in 2020, along with Oracle and Walmart, which some saw as a risky move. Walmart isn't part of this new deal; they backed out due to the estimated price of the app. This comes after President Trump gave TikTok and others a 75-day break from a ban. He had earlier suggested a joint venture where the US would own half of the company. It's like they’re trying to find the best way to handle the situation.
