This became clear when an Optimus robot responded to a question about its AI with a human-like voice and gestures. It even stumbled over the word "autonomous." Despite this reveal, the event was more about showing future possibilities than current tech. Many attendees weren't disappointed. They saw potential for robots in dangerous missions, like fires or Mars exploration. However, this raises questions about Tesla's robotics program. While they've made progress, the robots' full autonomy is still uncertain. Elon Musk has big plans for these robots, envisioning them as helpful buddies like C-3PO or R2-D2. He hopes they'll cook, clean, and even teach children. But the human control at the event suggests fully autonomous robots may still be a way off.
