Testing Smartness: Does the WAIS-IV Work for Adults with Heart Defects?

The WAIS-IV was given to 87 adults with d-TGA as part of a bigger test battery. Researchers used something called confirmatory factor analysis to see how well the test fit different models of intelligence, like general smarts or specific skills. They found that a four-factor model, which includes Verbal Comprehension, Perceptual Reasoning, Working Memory, and Processing Speed, worked well. This is similar to what's seen in healthy people.
