Texas Board Director Steps Down Amidst Political Uproar
Texas, USAThursday, January 9, 2025
State Rep. Brian Harrison, a Republican from Midlothian, blew the whistle on Bredt. He wanted him fired and even threatened to defund the board if Bredt wasn't let go. It didn't take long for Bredt to retire. But Harrison still wants an investigation and might push to defund the board anyway.
This isn't the first time Harrison has caused a ruckus. He's previously tried to influence state entities to align with his conservative views.
Planned Parenthood, however, isn't playing the politics game. They defended Bredt, saying he provides high-quality care. They also pointed out that they follow all state and federal regulations.
It's a tricky situation, isn't it? Employment can get complicated, especially when mixed with politics.
