Thalia Graves, a woman who was once just another face in the crowd, now finds herself at the center of a storm surrounding a powerful music mogul. Sean "Diddy" Combs, a name synonymous with success and glamour, has been accused of committing a heinous crime against her. According to a lawsuit filed in a federal court, Combs and his bodyguard, Joseph Sherman, allegedly drugged and assaulted Graves in 2001, filming the entire ordeal. The incident began with a seemingly innocuous meeting between Graves and Combs, facilitated by her boyfriend's connection to Combs' record label. Graves, then 25, accepted a glass of wine from Combs, but soon began to feel lightheaded, dizzy, and physically weak. The next thing she knew, she was naked and awake in a Manhattan studio, her hands tied behind her back. Combs then proceeded to rape her, and Sherman joined in on the assault as Graves came in and out of consciousness.

The lawsuit goes on to detail the devastating impact the assault had on Graves' life. She suffered from severe depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, and even attempted suicide. But it was only after learning that Combs and Sherman had recorded and published the assault video that Graves felt compelled to speak out. "I want to continue on this journey towards recovery and healing," Graves said through tears at a news conference alongside her attorney, Gloria Allred. "I'm glad that he is locked up, but that's a temporary feeling of relief."
