It rained so much that the lake and the surrounding hundred square miles were underwater. This meant no filming could happen. But Peter Jackson, the director, didn't let that stop them. Instead of waiting for the rain to stop, which could have taken ages, Jackson moved the entire crew and cast to another location on the North Island.

The next day, they started filming a different scene. This shows how Jackson's planning and creativity turned Lord of the Rings into one of the greatest film productions ever. It wasn't just about shooting a movie; it was about creating an entire film industry in New Zealand. The country's dramatic landscapes and Jackson's innovative use of effects made the trilogy stand out. Even after all these years, Rhys-Davies still thinks positively about his experience and might even return as Gimli if the role is less physically demanding.
