The Dragon's Deception: Unmasking the Chinese Communist Party's Influence in American Politics

As the midterm elections approach, the Biden administration and Democrats are once again fixated on Russia, Russia, Russia. Attorney General Merrick Garland has rolled out new charges against Russian media figures and seized alleged connected Internet domains, in an obvious effort to garner attention and signal party spokespeople to play up these claims against Donald Trump. However, this convenient distraction from the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) deep infiltration into American politics raises critical questions that demand our scrutiny. In recent years, China's influence has burrowed its way deep into the fabric of American politics, with a particular affinity for cozying up to Democrats. From Hunter and Jim Biden's business dealings with a state-run Chinese company, to a Chinese spy serving as Sen. Dianne Feinstein's driver for two decades, the CCP's tentacles have reached far and wide across the nation. Just this week, after a six-month investigation, The Washington Post reported extensive Chinese influence in San Francisco, including the use of agents and diplomats to provoke violent protests and silence critics of the regime. These revelations follow federal charges against Linda Sun, an aide to New York Govs. Hochul and Cuomo, who allegedly acted as an agent for China, even letting a handler listen in on private COVID calls with American policymakers. In return for aiding the CCP, she and her husband were paid millions in kickbacks. Sun apparently got her job through connections with Rep. Grace Meng, having served as her chief of staff when Meng was in the State Assembly. This is particularly concerning given that Meng, like Hochul, received a speaking slot at last month's Democratic National Convention. The CCP's influence doesn't stop there. One Queens Democrat told The Post that the party is trying to infiltrate the borough, with signs reflecting this influence even appearing at parades. When Xiong Yan, a Chinese dissident who participated in the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, ran in a congressional primary last year, he was targeted by the Chinese government through a smear campaign and threats of violence if that didn't work. Meanwhile, Iran is also guilty of hacking into American political campaigns during this election cycle, targeting not only Trump officials but even a former Biden diplomat. This follows Sen. Bob Menendez's resignation after being convicted for acting as an agent for the Egyptian government in exchange for gold and luxury cars. The Biden family's own influence business extends to Ukraine and Romania. But of all these scandals, China should worry us most. As our chief geopolitical rival that is bigger, richer, and more sophisticated than Russia or Iran, the CCP poses a significant threat. It's time we started saying 'China, China, China' and unmasked their influence in American politics once and for all. As Americans head to the polls this November, it's crucial that we remain vigilant against foreign interference from any nation, but particularly the CCP. We must demand transparency and accountability from our leaders and hold them responsible for any actions that compromise our democracy and national security.
