The Grateful Dead made a splash in Los Angeles.  A colourful and lively event kicked off the Grammy weekend.  The legendary rockers were the guests of honor.  MusiCares named them Persons of the Year. These guys rocked grammy weekend with an energetic party.  This was a 2. 5-hour celebration.

        The event was a colorful one.  The dancing bears of Grateful Dead were there.

        High spirits and unique style are what this band is about.

       It wasn't just the music that got recognized.  The band's kind acts also got a nod.

       Grateful Dead wasn't just about music.  They also gave back to the community.  They helped many people.

       It seemed as if the band was more about spreading joy, they were the ultimate peace and love from the 60's music scene. The band brought a lot of positive vibes to the stage.

       They've never been driven by fame.  Their main goal is about sharing love.

       The band was inducted with a lot of stars.  The energy in the halls was electric.

       The band had tears in their eyes. They remembered the ones they loved that were now gone.  General graham, Jerry Garcia and Bill Kruszmann were the sons of the original band members and for the first time got to hear the music with their dads.

       Not all the gifts were musical.  They got a ton of praise.

       The atmosphere was full of fun.  The band had a lot of love for their fans, also known as deadheads.

       These folks keep their dream going.  Sixty years their fans have been their driving force.  Without their fans, this band probably wouldn't have lasted.  All the music schools, hospitals and health care organizations got help from the dead.

       Their generous hearts put a smile on their fans' faces.

       Actor Woody Harrelson had a lot to say about the band.  The actor and bandmate then took the stage together. Fans and band members laughed. Many people even teared up as they remembered what the band meant to them.   The fun continued.  They didn’t let any little hiccup stop the celebration.  The show rocked on.

       Oh, the jokes and the fun. The love for music.

       The musicians throughout the night showed everyone of the open hearts they have.

       They all praised the gratitude of a community.

       The fun wasn't just about the music.  Good karma was all around the musical celebration.

       They also raised a lot of money. Fans got a shot at helping others.

       The Grateful Dead was there.  Fans and musicians loved it.  Music is life and it really showed.
