Doctors have a hard time figuring out how to treat AVMs because they can look different in each person. Some might have light bleeding, while others could be in real danger. At one hospital, five women who had AVMs after an abortion were treated. They all had different experiences and treatments. Most of them were able to have kids later on.
When treating AVMs, doctors need to think about things like the patient's age, how much they're bleeding, how big the AVM is, and if they want to have kids in the future. There's no one-size-fits-all solution.
