The Mystery of the Hiking Trail Murders
Delphi, IN, USAFriday, October 18, 2024
Autopsies revealed that the girls were stabbed to death. A .40-caliber bullet found at the scene matched a gun owned by Allen. Police think Allen is the man seen in a Snapchat video walking on the same trail where the teens were last seen.
Allen worked at a local CVS and had contact with the girls' family. He was interviewed by police in 2017 but wasn't arrested until 2022. Allen's legal team argues that the murders were part of a ritual sacrifice involving a pagan Norse religion called Odinism. However, prosecutors and the judge dismissed this theory.
Allen faces up to 130 years in prison if convicted. His trial began this week in Carroll County. The community hopes for answers and closure after seven long years.
