Because the aerosols, especially dust, heat up the air and make it more humid, which encourages thin, non-rainy clouds to form. However, the sun's warmth is reduced during the day, causing a paradoxical effect where daytime cloud cover decreases.

Aerosols also have a strange impact on temperature. They can make the surface warmer, which is the opposite of what we usually expect from cloud cover. This is due to the semi-direct effect, where the absorbed sunlight heats the air from the top down. These findings show that aerosols are more than just tiny particles floating around.
