The Tech Gap: A Growing Concern Across Generations
EuropeFriday, September 20, 2024
One of the most striking aspects of the survey was the stark contrast between younger and older adults when it comes to technology. Younger millennials, aged 27-34, showed a remarkable confidence in their digital skills, with approximately 80% of respondents in countries like France and Italy stating they had a solid grasp on tech. In contrast, older baby boomers, aged 69 and above, struggled the most, with the majority admitting to knowing very little or nothing about technology.
The technology gap can have serious consequences, particularly for older adults. It can leave them vulnerable to scams and privacy breaches, and even make it difficult for them to stay connected with loved ones. However, the good news is that there are steps that can be taken to bridge this divide.
