The Tiny Satellites Making Big Waves in Space Exploration
Friday, October 4, 2024
Take the ASTERIA CubeSat from NASA for example. This little guy used its teeny telescope to confirm an exoplanet called Janssen exists. It was a long way away, but this mini-satellite saw it like it was right next door! The MarCO CubeSats that went on a historic mission to Mars sent back amazing photos as a bonus.
These tiny satellites are being built for all sorts of cool experiments. Some are studying space junk, others are looking for valuable minerals in asteroids...and some even get to map water sources on the Moon for future missions! The possibilities are endless with these pint-sized powerhouses in space.
