A man named Mohammad Shehzad has confessed to stabbing actor Saif Ali Khan in Mumbai. This happened after Mumbai Police caught him in Thane on January 19, 2025. Shehzad, who worked for a housekeeping agency, had used several fake names and was arrested at a labor camp near a metro construction site.

The police are looking into whether Shehzad is an Indian or a Bangladeshi national using a fake identity. They found him by using CCTV footage from Saif Ali Khan's home. The breakthrough came when another suspect was caught in Chhattisgarh. This person was traveling on the Gyaneshwari Express and was arrested with help from the railway authorities. Earlier, another person was caught in Madhya Pradesh, but they were not involved in this case. The Mumbai Police will have a press conference at 9 AM on January 19, 2025, to share more details.
