"MobLand" was initially planned as a British version of "Ray Donovan" but evolved into its own standalone series. The show has been a hit, with over 26 million viewers, and has topped charts both domestically and internationally, including becoming the number one show in the UK.
Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, praised the creative team and the cast for their outstanding work. He expressed delight in greenlighting a second season of this global phenomenon.
This renewal marks Butterworth's second Paramount show to secure a second season under his TV deal. He is also the co-creator of another Paramount+ series, "The Agency, " which was picked up for a second season in December 2024.
