Tragedy in Orangeburg: A Teenager's Life Lost in Shooting

On a sad day in November 2024, a violent shooting shook the community of Orangeburg. The awful incident cost the life of 14-year-old Zaquan Corbett Jr. and left another teenager hospitalized. The shooting occurred near the intersection of Wheeler and Nottingham Streets. When police arrived, they found a chaotic scene with a speeding car and people running away. Shell casings littered the ground, pointing to a case of gunfire. The two young victims were rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, Zaquan Corbett Jr. couldn't be saved. The Orangeburg County Coroner's Office confirmed his identity. Authorities discovered that the three teenagers involved were acquaintances, but the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
