Arlington, USASaturday, December 21, 2024
Police identified the vehicle through witness statements and surveillance footage. A short while later, a Lincoln Town Car believed to be following the Honda was spotted. Officers tried to stop the Honda, but it kept moving. The Lincoln pulled over, and two individuals inside were arrested. One of them was Humberto Barajas, 20, who had an outstanding felony warrant. Shortly after, the Honda crashed, and another suspect, 17-year-old Angel Barajas, was found nearby and taken into custody. The suspected driver, 17-year-old Ja'Tavies Jones, was arrested the next day by the U. S. Marshals.
The four suspects are believed to have been involved in multiple crimes before the fatal shooting. These included the theft of the Honda Civic in Dallas on Saturday night, a shooting at an apartment complex that injured a woman and a dog, and an armed carjacking in Grand Prairie early Sunday morning. All four face charges of capital murder and aggravated assault. The two suspects in the Honda also face evading arrest charges, and one had an outstanding felony warrant.
