Grey’s Anatomy star Camilla Luddington recently shared her experiences with the Elisabeth Finch scandal, where a writer tricked the show's cast and crew with false stories. This story is explored in the docuseries Anatomy of Lies, which is available on Peacock. Luddington, who plays Jo Wilson, was surprised to learn that Finch had lied about her cancer and other traumas. She even admitted that she would have thought she could spot a liar, but this incident changed her mind.
Finch’s lies affected Luddington’s mental health and trust in others. She felt questioned and doubtful about her own instincts. Her co-host on the podcast Call It What It Is, Jessica Capshaw, who played Arizona Robbins, also believed Finch’s stories. Capshaw said she’s less forgiving towards liars, especially when their lies hurt others.
The docuseries reveals that Finch borrowed personal stories from other writers without their consent. Luddington didn’t enjoy being part of this story and found it uncomfortable. She wished they weren’t so closely tied to the scandal.
