The nation was still in shock. The deadliest aviation disaster in over two decades had killed 67 people. The nation was in shock.     People were upset by the suggestion. The probe was too fresh. The FAA itself was just beginning to dive in.

    Trump was pretty clear about what he thought. “Diversity hiring is a disaster. It’s a joke. It’s too many people being employed who are not up to the task. It’s a recipe for disaster. ”  Trump was certain about his stance.

    But the FAA had a different opinion. They explained the existence of a long standing policy. The agency had been recruiting "fully qualified" people with disabilities for years. "We don’t just recruit from one place, " they explained. "We get from diverse sources. "

    "The crash was no one’s fault yet, but we wanted to get ahead of the narrative. "

    Trump had a different approach. He questioned the competence of air traffic controllers. He pointed fingers at the war veterans. He was not afraid to openly discuss the catastrophic crash.  His comments about the crash were surprising.

    He even mocked the first responders. "I wouldn’t go to the crash site. "  He was certain about his stance.

     Trump made a grave error. The nation looked at their president and didn't see a leader. They didn't see somebody who understood the gravity of the situation. They saw a man who was pointing fingers. They saw a man who was not taking responsibility.  They did not see a leader who could offer comfort. They did not see a leader who could guide them through a tough situation.

    He even mocked the victims. He didn’t show any empathy. He was not offering them any comfort. He was not even showing any respect.

    Many people were upset by the president’s words. They wanted him to lead, not lie.

    The FAA’s diversity initiatives were not unique. They had been around for years. "They reflect what the agency has always stood for, " they explained. The former FAA administrator had the same thoughts. He stood behind the diversity program.

      "We’ve always looked for the best candidates. They have to be up to the job. "  He stood behind his words.

    There are more problems to tackle, though. The FAA has a problem that needs to be solved. The staffing shortage is a problem that needs to be solved. Even before the crash, aviation experts had been speaking out about this problem. "The system is showing signs of strain that cannot be ignored, " they wrote.

    The plane and helicopter crashes have been rare. But they have been happening. There are many problems that need to be solved. The FAA needs to tackle the issues.

    Trump made a point of praising his team. He said, "They’re doing a great job. "

    They stood behind him, echoing the same sentiments.
