South Dakota, USATuesday, November 12, 2024
Noem, who previously served as a representative, will now oversee an agency with vast responsibilities, including US Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the US Secret Service.
Interestingly, Noem was once considered for the vice presidential role but her relationship with Trump soured after the release of her book, "No Going Back. " In it, she shared a controversial story about putting down her 14-month-old wirehair pointer, Cricket, because it wasn't showing ideal hunting dog traits. She later defended the action as demonstrating her ability to handle tough tasks.
