Judge Tanya Chutkan pointed out that the pardons cannot erase the trauma and damage caused by the rioters. Retired Judge Shira Scheindlin and Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe also condemned the pardons, with Tribe suggesting they could be an impeachable offense.
