Turning Tree Fruits into Powerful Battery Materials

Scientists took these fruits and turned them into carbon materials by heating them at different temperatures. They then tested how well these materials could store and release potassium ions. The best sample, heated to 800°C, showed impressive results. After 100 cycles at a slow charge and discharge rate, it could store 193. 3 milliampere-hours per gram (mAh g⁻¹) of potassium. Even after 300 cycles at a higher rate, it still managed 80. 4 mAh g⁻¹. When pushed to a very high rate, it could still deliver 51. 2 mAh g⁻¹.
This work shows a practical way to use leftover biomass to create sustainable energy storage solutions. It's like turning waste into a powerhouse for future batteries!
