UK Law's Blind Spot: How Colourism Gets Ignored
UKTuesday, June 24, 2025
Colourism is a form of racism. It's just as harmful. But the law does not treat it the same way. This shows a bigger problem. The law is not doing enough to protect people from racism. So, it's even worse for colourism.
This is not a new problem. It's a legacy of colonial times. The law has always been indifferent to the struggles of marginalised communities. This is not acceptable. People are suffering. The law should be on their side.
The law needs to change. It needs to recognise colourism. It needs to protect people from this form of discrimination. Until then, the law is failing. It's failing to protect the most vulnerable people in society.
