Ukraine to Get Canada's NASAMS Air Defense System by Year's End
UkraineWednesday, November 6, 2024
This isn't the first time Canada has stepped up to support Ukraine. Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau has committed $4. 5 billion to military aid, including the recent $64. 8 million package announced in October. Canada also plays a crucial role in training Ukrainian soldiers. The two leaders, Zelensky and Trudeau, have been discussing the planning of the Second Peace Summit, following the first one held in Switzerland back in June.
Beyond military support, the leaders also touched on the importance of the "Release of Prisoners and Deported Persons" conference held in Montreal. This event aimed to address the complex issue of war prisoners and Ukrainians who have been deported. President Zelensky emphasized the need to find comprehensive solutions for all affected groups, including civilians, prisoners of war, and children.
