Ukraine's Contested Town: What's Happening in Selydove?

In the heart of Ukraine's Donetsk region, the town of Selydove has become a hotspot. Russia says it's taken control, but Ukrainian authorities haven't confirmed this yet. Selydove is important because it's a key defense point for Ukraine, helping to block Russia's advance toward the city of Pokrovsk. Fighting has been intense in Selydove. A spokesperson for a Ukrainian brigade told us that the town has been attacked from all sides for over a week. Russia is using a lot of troops and even bringing in reserves from the north to put pressure on the town.

But here's something interesting: Russia isn't destroying the town's infrastructure. It seems they want to keep Selydove as a base for the future. In Kharkiv, one of Ukraine's largest cities, a Russian bomb hit the Derzhprom building, a famous landmark known for its modernist architecture. This building is considered a cultural monument, and its damage is a big loss for Ukraine.
