Get ready for a gripping crime thriller from Sky called Under Salt Marsh. The talented Rafe Spall, known for his roles in The English and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, is set to star alongside Kelly Reilly. They're not alone; Jonathan Pryce from The Crown and Slow Horses, Naomi Yang from Nightsleeper, and Harry Lawtey from Industry are also joining the cast. The story unfolds in the fictional Welsh town of Morfa Halen, a place wedged between towering mountains and a sea that's slowly creeping in. Spall plays a detective who returns to his old stomping grounds to investigate the death of a child. This isn't his first time in town; he failed to solve a case here before. The series gets even more intense when a massive storm starts brewing. A teacher, Jackie Ellis (Reilly), finds the body of her eight-year-old student, Cefin, who seems to have drowned. This discovery brings back memories of a cold case from three years ago—the disappearance of Jackie's niece, Nessa. Ellis and Spall's characters must work together to uncover secrets buried deep in Morfa. They're in a race against time as the storm threatens to wipe away any evidence. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it! The series is created and directed by Claire Oakley, known for her work on Make Up. Little Door Productions and Sky Studios are producing it, with support from the Welsh government through Creative Wales. Some other talented actors joining the cast include Dinita Gohil, Brian Gleeson, and Kimberley Nixon. Elwen Rowlands, CEO of Little Door, is excited about the cast and the story. She says, "Claire's scripts are compelling and tell a thrilling story about a community connected to its environment." NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution will handle international sales.
