Unraveling the Mystery: A Killer's Path through New York

Investigators are piecing together a timeline of events surrounding the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan. The NYPD has been analyzing surveillance footage to track the suspect's movements before and after the shooting. The suspect started their journey on Sunday, November 24, arriving in New York by bus from Atlanta and staying briefly at the New York Hilton Midtown hotel. They then moved to a hostel on the Upper West Side, where they had a casual interaction with the clerk. The suspect checked out and then back in, staying until the day of the shooting.

On Wednesday, December 4, the suspect was seen wandering around the Hilton area, buying a water bottle and energy bars at a nearby Starbucks. Around 6:44 a. m. , Thompson was shot while walking toward the Hilton for an investor conference. The gunman shot Thompson in the back and continued firing, despite a gun jam. After the shooting, the assailant fled on an electric bike, riding through Central Park and eventually getting into a cab. Investigators later found a backpack in Central Park believed to belong to the suspect, which is being tested for forensic evidence. The hunt for the killer continues as authorities work to identify and apprehend the suspect.
