US shoppers are faced a surprise with some purchases online. The prices went up, and some

        products were nowhere to be found on two gigantic ecommerce platforms, Shein and Temu.

        These two sites, owned by China, make the shopping convenient for some consumers.  As of

        this year Donald Trump made and then re ordered important tax laws and  caused some

        real confusion.  Some of the sellers have seen an impact.

        Now let's dive into one seller's experience.   A guy, Shi, sells arts and crafts

        on Temu.  He was surprised to see a 50% price increase, and all of this in

        one week.  He saw a 30% decrease in orders.

        Let's talk about that. It is important to note that these Shop sites have a different

        structure than large American websites, like, for example,  Ebay.  On the American sites

        the sellers make the prices but, on the Chinese sites, Temu, the sites make the prices.

        They are the ones who decide for what price the products will be sold. but the buyers

        are actually the ones are giving money to the sellers so it doesn't matter.  This is important to keep in mind.

        The ecommerce players did not like that the government made it difficult for them to

        import less valued items which are less than $800 US dollars. The original tariffs would

        change how the marketplace operated by making these imports more expensive.

        Trump changed his mind and put a stamp on the tariffs.  And the games went on. Now, on the

        blade's edge types of sellers are wondering about the decisions.  Some sellers, things went

        down with less orders.  And others, things went up with less prices.

        Now, some shoppers are seeing a few less options than before. Others, they are

        seeing a few more options than before.  But the bottom line is, people are still shopping.
