Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports has recognized four exceptional volunteers for their dedication to making sports accessible for everyone. The honorees are Lisa and Todd Presson, Katie Ahern, and Stew Stryker.

The Pressons: A Dynamic Duo

Lisa and Todd Presson began volunteering in 2021 and have since gone above and beyond. They participated in more training sessions than anyone else. Lisa focused her efforts on the Special Olympics Vermont team at Sugarbush, while Todd stepped in wherever needed. The couple also supported the Veteran Ventures pickleball program during the summer and represented the organization at various events.

Katie Ahern: Balancing Act

Katie Ahern, also a volunteer since 2021, manages her time between her job as a special educator, being a school administrator, and parenting a participant. Despite her busy schedule, she supports programs and events all over the state, from skiing at Pico Mountain to paddling and bike rides.

Stew Stryker: A Legacy of Service

Stew Stryker has been a volunteer since 1987. He has been involved in almost every aspect of the organization. He teaches skiing, cycling, and paddling programs and helps with fundraising events like the Vermont 100 and the Vermont 50.

Making a Difference

These volunteers are essential to the organization's mission. They help empower people with disabilities through sports and recreation. Their dedication and hard work make a real difference in the lives of many.
