In 1992, a law required the full disclosure of Kennedy's assassination records by 2017. However, previous presidents had delayed this, citing potential harm to national security. President Biden has reviewed and reconsidered these decisions, finding that the public interest outweighs any remaining concerns. The White House has ordered the Director of National Intelligence and the Attorney General to create plans for releasing these records. They have 15 days for Kennedy's records and 45 days for the others. This move aims to provide closure and answers to families and the American people.
