US Defense Chief's Ukraine Visit: A Look Ahead

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin made his fourth and likely final trip to Ukraine this week. The visit comes just before the U. " While he received pledges of continued support, key allies did not endorse his call for immediate NATO membership. Experts suggest Ukraine may need to make tough decisions about its fighting forces, including whether to hold onto territory seized in Russia's Kursk region during a surprise summer offensive. Despite billions in U. S. military support, including advanced weapons, Ukraine faces a challenging fight.
