US Steps In to Help Venezuela After Major Earthquakes
Caracas, VenezuelaThursday, June 25, 2026
A U. S. official noted that the team would work with Venezuela’s interim government, sending search and rescue units as well as medical and humanitarian goods. This support aims to address the immediate needs that arise after such a catastrophic event.
The U. S. embassy confirmed that all American staff in Caracas are safe and accounted for. This move follows a recent warming of relations between the two nations, partly due to diplomatic changes after the U. S. raid on President Maduro’s compound in January.
The U. S. has also engaged with the interim government, led by former ally Delcy Rodriguez, to negotiate oil sales and lift certain sanctions. These steps are intended to encourage investment and stabilize the Venezuelan economy during a period of crisis.
