Vice President Harris' Vogue Shoot: A Day of Glamour and Politics

On a Monday filled with significant global events, Vice President Kamala Harris took time out for a glamorous Vogue magazine cover shoot. The shoot coincided with the one-year anniversary of a deadly massacre in Israel and as Florida prepared for a major hurricane. Harris, dressed in a $3,000 Gabriela Heart suit and wearing Tiffany earrings, was hailed as a "candidate for our times" by the fashion magazine. While she posed for pictures, the world remembered the tragic event in Israel where Palestinian Hamas terrorists killed over 1,200 people and took 250 hostages.

Between her media appearances, Harris criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for not taking her calls during the previous hurricane. She commented, "Moments of crisis should be when leaders put politics aside." DeSantis, however, denied receiving any calls from Harris. Meanwhile, the vice president also addressed the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, vowing to work on a ceasefire and hostage deal. Harris has had a complex relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, even declining to attend a joint session of Congress to hear him speak. She has also been critical of Israel's military actions. Her Vogue shoot was not her first; she previously posed for the magazine before Inauguration Day 2021, but later complained that her appearance was unflattering.
