The fall sports season in the Gainesville area has come to an end. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with highs and lows. Now, it's time to honor the top athletes.

All-Area Teams Announced

The Gainesville Sun is announcing its All-Area teams for five sports:

• Football
• Volleyball
• Swimming and Diving
• Cross Country
• Golf

Each sport has a first-team All-Area list. From this list, five nominees have been chosen for the Girls Golfer of the Year poll.

Fans Have a Say

Fans have a say in who wins. They can vote for their favorite golfer multiple times. The poll closes at noon on Friday, January 16.

The Girls Golfer of the Year poll features five nominees. These nominees were picked from the first-team All-Area list. The poll was released on Wednesday, January 7. The Gainesville Sun picked Suwannee's Ryan Donaldson as the Player of the Year. But now, it's up to the fans to decide.
