Vulcan Rocket Poised for Launch Success
Thursday, October 3, 2024
The Vulcan rocket has already secured contracts from both the U.S. Space Force and the National Reconnaissance Office for military payloads and spy satellites. Additionally, Amazon's Kuiper satellite broadband network has also booked missions with ULA using Vulcan rockets. With 70 Vulcans now in its backlog, mostly for space-related government projects, ULA is poised to launch operational missions for the Space Force later this year if all goes well on Friday's test flight.
The Space Force is eager to certify Vulcan for their launches but wants to see a couple successful tests first before entrusting military satellites to it. With each passing day, the stakes are high, and the pressure is on to make this mission a success. The fate of ULA's reputation and its ability to meet the growing demand for space-related services hangs in the balance.
