But when it rains heavily, people park for shorter periods. The chance of a car leaving goes up by 3%. This might be because people rush in and out during heavy rain, but take their time during light rain. Weekdays and weekends also make a difference. On weekdays and weekends, people park for shorter periods compared to short holidays. The chance of a car leaving increases by 7. 1% on weekdays and 4. 3% on weekends. This could be because people have more time to spend during holidays.

Interestingly, the cost of parking did not seem to affect how long people parked. This might be because the cost is not high enough to make a difference, or people are willing to pay more for convenience. However, this finding needs more research to be fully understood.
