Weather Worries: Eight States Brace for Bad Travel Days Before Thanksgiving

Get ready for a bumpy ride this Thanksgiving! Eight states across the US are gearing up for some seriously rough travel conditions as a big storm heads their way. These states include Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. With a whopping 71 million Americans planning to hit the roads for the holiday, this isn't great news. AccuWeather is keeping a close eye on things and warns that millions of travelers might face significant disruptions. The storm is expected to dump snow in the western mountain ranges and then move eastward, bringing rain and snow with it. While Denver might not get a major snowstorm, a few inches could still cause problems on busy highways like Interstates 25, 70, and 80.

The storm could bring in a lot of snow, with predictions of 6 to 12 inches in Utah's Wasatch Range and Colorado's Rockies, and up to 50 inches in some areas by late Wednesday. Skiers might be happy, but drivers should be cautious. As the storm moves south, it will affect Texas and the lower southern Plains. The National Safety Council has also issued a warning about holiday travel, predicting 502 road fatalities this year. They advise drivers to be careful and consider all factors before heading out.
