Weinstein's Cases: One Trial or Two?

New York prosecutors have a plan: they want to merge Harvey Weinstein's two sex crime cases into one big trial. This move has Weinstein's lawyers on edge, saying it's not fair. Weinstein is already facing retrial for two older charges after his 2020 conviction was thrown out. Now, he's also accused of forcing oral sex on a woman in 2006. Prosecutors think combining the cases will save time and resources. They want to call around 12 to 15 witnesses, including experts who can talk about Weinstein's power in the entertainment industry.

Weinstein's team, however, thinks the prosecutors are just trying to make the witnesses seem more trustworthy. A judge will decide soon if there will be one trial or two. This isn't the first time Weinstein has been in trouble. He was also convicted of rape in Los Angeles last year, but his lawyers are fighting that too.
