What Really Happened When DEI Practices Were Questioned
Friday, January 31, 2025
There is a movement of the boardroom executive staff to cry foul because the inclusive representative initiatives will pose risks. Yet those in this influential position are in favor.
Of course disagreement persists, with the conservative advocates pushing for more jobs for those who don’t consider whether leaders are from diverse backgrounds such as people with disabilities.
That notion is not a novel idea. It has been dismissed even before it became in vogue.
The most critical counter view is about the risks to recruitments of people from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds.
Harley-Davidson, Costco, McDonald's, Target, Walmart and others have been subjected to intense scrutiny. They have been asked to weigh the financial risks for planning and executing those diversity policies.
The challenge came from conservative professionals, pressure groups and patrons to make that retreat.
