You might be surprised to hear that some Democrats are on board with President-elect Donald Trump's new Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. This department is led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. A few Democrats, like Rep. Jared Moskowitz, are even joining a congressional caucus to support DOGE. They want to make sure agencies like the Secret Service and FEMA report directly to the White House. Others, like Rep. Ro Khanna and Sen. Bernie Sanders, want to cut the Pentagon budget because of failed audits. But not everyone is thrilled. Some Democrats don't want to work with Trump ally Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. They're also worried that cutting government programs without understanding them could go wrong. Even some Republicans have concerns. The Senate has its own DOGE caucus, and lawmakers from both parties are meeting to figure out what to do next. The big question is, will this effort lead to real changes? Or will it just cause more fights between Republicans and Democrats? Only time will tell.
